Android Update: Goals, Streaks, and Reminders to Keep You Training
Boxing rewards the people who keep showing up. The latest Android update of the Shadow Boxing App is built around that, with weekly goals, a streak tied to your actual schedule, a progress view, and reminders that nudge you on the days you said you would train.
Pick the days you want to train
The first piece is the Goals and reminders screen. You set how many sessions per week you are aiming for, then toggle the specific days and pick a time for each one. Monday at 12:30 PM. Wednesday at 7:30 AM. Saturday evening. Whatever fits your week.
The app uses those choices for two things. It sends a notification when one of your training slots comes around, so you do not have to rely on willpower to remember. And it uses them to decide what counts as a kept day for your streak.
The streak is tied to your schedule
A daily streak is bad advice for boxing. Recovery days matter. Some people train four times a week, some three, some six. Forcing a calendar streak punishes the people training intelligently.
So the streak on Android counts the days you said you would train. Days you marked as off do not break it. Miss a Monday you said you would train and the streak resets. Skip a Tuesday that was off in your plan and nothing happens. It rewards sticking to the plan you actually built, not generic daily activity.
The people in the two-year, 1800-round write-up got to those numbers by being consistent over a long stretch, not by being heroic on any single day. The streak feature is there to make that path easier to walk.
See where you stand
The Progress tab brings it together. Your current week streak, your total rounds, a calendar of the days you actually trained, and a chart of total rounds over time.
Numbers are not the point of training, but they help on the days motivation runs low. Open the app, see the streak you do not want to break, wrap your hands, get the work in.
What is still coming on Android
This update keeps closing the gap with iOS that started with the Android launch in May and continued through the combo creator and recommendations release and quick start landing on Android. The deeper performance stats and the kickboxing exercises are next.
If you have not installed the app yet, you can grab it on the Play Store. If it is already on your phone, update it and the new goals screen will be waiting in your settings.
