What People Who Use the Shadow Boxing App Actually Say
We don’t have a marketing team.
The Shadow Boxing App is a small independent app, and the feedback that matters most to us comes from the people who download it, train with it, and occasionally take a few minutes to leave a review. Some of those reviews say a lot about who actually uses the app and why it works for them.
People who couldn’t get to a gym
A big chunk of our reviews come from people who were looking for an alternative to the gym, either because they travel, live somewhere rural, or couldn’t afford the membership.
“I’m not one to usually review apps but this app is a big help for someone who wants to train while also traveling constantly.” — Lionstrike1111
“I live in a rural environment with no access to a boxing gym. This app mixes up the training well and acts as an excellent on-the-go coach.” — puffychipmunk
“I looked around at different boxing gyms and they’re just so expensive and the environments are a bit intimidating to a person brand new to the sport. I ended up downloading this app and the first few workouts have taught me so much.” — Admiral Mx
That last one comes up a lot in different forms. Boxing gyms can be great, but they are also expensive, geographically limited, and intimidating if you have never thrown a punch before. A lot of people want to learn before they walk into one.
Beginners who actually learned something
Several reviews specifically mention learning, not just getting a workout. That matters to us because it means the tutorial videos and structured programs are doing their job.
“I knew close to nothing about shadow boxing but this app did a good job walking me through it and made me steadily improve.” — gflandre
“I am learning how to box thanks to this app. I’m a beginner and the instructions are clear, the videos are informative and I am building fitness as I learn.” — Selina
“Only new to boxing but using this app everyday has helped a ton. Burning workouts! Plus the bonus of learning defense (slipping, parry, blocking, rolls).” — JDAMOTOX
The defense mention from JDAMOTOX is one we noticed early on. Most boxing apps focus entirely on punching. Beginners who use this one pick up that there is more to it: footwork, head movement, defence. That changes how they think about the sport.
The “feels like a real coach” reaction
This one keeps coming up, phrased different ways:
“This app is like having a one-to-one boxing trainer, whenever I want.” — Conor Sleven
“Great app, very motivating. A real sport coach!” — Sam21709698
“You can tell this was made by someone who actually fights.” — KKCBB
That last review is blunt and we appreciate it. The punch callouts, the rest timing, the way combinations are structured… those details come from working with real coaches and real training experience, not from product people guessing what a boxing workout should look like.
The ones who never review apps
A few people specifically mentioned that they don’t normally leave reviews:
“I never reviewed an app before, but this by far is the best for anybody who wants to learn or polish their boxing skills. 11/10, would recommend.” — hps5314
“I’m not one to usually review apps but this app is a big help.” — Lionstrike1111
“I did not have to sub to the app to use it fully but decided to do it anyway to support the creator best I could. They listen to feedback and improve very fast, if I could give more than 5 stars I definitely would.” — Sa3vus
That Sa3vus review is the kind of thing that keeps a small team going. The app has a free tier that works genuinely well; people who subscribe do it partly because they want to, not because they are forced to. That is the right dynamic to build on.
We read every review. The critical ones tell us what to fix, and the positive ones tell us what to protect. If you have been training with the app and have feedback, the reviews section is the best place to leave it.
